Honduran Copan Organic Decaf

  • We have tried several different decaf flavors and felt that Honduran coffee really tends to shine within the decaf category – smooth, rich and chocolaty while naturally being lower acidity. A bit more neutral and chocolaty but not nearly as nutty as a Brazil or Colombian, so perfect for an afternoon cup!

This coffee bean was created using the Mountain Water Process, a chemical-free technique for making decaf coffee that helps maintain a clean, crisp, and remarkably solid body and still capable of preserving some more subtle hints, notes, flavors, and aromas that are indicative of a bean's place of origin. It's simply great tasting and easy to drink. You can enjoy a very clean cup and sometimes can't even tell that it's a decaf.

Lighter roasts are interesting which pulls out a bit of sweet green tea like spice, but medium is the go-to when its stronger chocolate undertone mixes very well with the floral sweetness on top to create a lovely balance. The beans came from San Vicente coffee farm which has become famous for its quality and consistency. This is attributed to the excellent volcanic soil, microclimate provided by the proximity of Lake Yojoa, and the meticulous nature of the quality control experts who base their success on trust, hard work, and passion with coffee.
